The new one-day TRANSLIFE Professional Symposium will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Finley Community Center in Santa Rosa, CA. The symposium is an opportunity for our medical, mental/behavioral health, legal, and educational professionals to learn about the unique needs, challenges, and cultural competencies necessary to provide sensitive and appropriate care to the transgender and gender non-conforming community.
In 2015, a group of dedicated community members came together to create an event to foster community building for our transgender/gender non-conforming community. Since then, professionals have asked for a space to ask their questions and gain a broader understanding of the needs of people who identify as transgender or gender expansive. We are delighted to announce this 1st TRANSLIFE Professional Symposium to equip, empower, and connect professionals and interested community.
100% of the profits from the TRANSLIFE Professional Symposium will go towards the annual Sonoma County Rural TRANSLIFE Community Building Conference, that is committed to providing an inclusive space for anyone on the gender spectrum. This includes individuals who identify as transgender, genderqueer, gender fluid, two-spirit or questioning. This year’s 3rd annual community conference is being held on October 21, 2017 at the Finley Community Center. We are looking forward to our 4th annual community conference to be held in the Fall of 2018.
